Hydrometallurgy
High-Pressure Acid Leaching (HPAL) and Pressure Oxidation (POX) are two extremely demanding extraction methods in the mining industry. Both methods need dependable, long-term operationally tested pipes & fittings. Every pipe used in the leaching method has to withstand corrosion abrasion in slurries under high temperatures & Pressures.
Traditional methods involve maintenance repairs (such as rubber-lined carbon steel, RLCS or FRP) or high capital investment in exotic materials (304SS, 316SS, duplex or titanium). That’s why Pexgol’s non-stop, high-integrity piping is a must in Hydrometallurgy.
Unlike traditional piping solutions, Pexgol Pipe offers lower operational & capital costs through a field-proven, plastic pipe. Pexgol is suitable for the extreme conditions in plant pipelines – both before the autoclaves, and after the flash vessel – where temperatures can drop below 110C/230F.
Advantages of Pexgol in Hydrometallurgy
- Eliminates corrosion related to failures & repairs
- No need for levelling, preparation or handling
- Resistant to H2SO4, H2S, and other leaching acids (in a variety of concentrations)
- Smooth internal surface reduces energy
- Typically lower-cost compared to exotic materials (Stainless Steel, Duplex, Titanium, etc.)
